Children need both proper nutrition and education in order to be able to grow up into healthy, strong adults who can make a difference in their community. Providing at minimum an adequate diet will ensure a generation of individuals who will be able to communally become self-sufficient and create a sustain environment for education and nutrition. Proper nutrition plays the largest role in the development of a society, allowing them to learn, grow, and self-support.
Lungi is a small town in Sierra Leone, one of the many where as a result of the outbreak of Ebola epidemic many children have lost their parents and therefore their childhood is not the easiest .. many of these children try different ways to stay alive .. often binds This is the violation of law, exploitation by adults or the trade of living goods 🙁
Fate made the Hatima Foundation reach one of the locations where the most needy children are helping. There are wonderful people Salesians of Don Bosco whose mission is to provide care for the most needy children. Thanks to the support of donors, we managed to organize a unique place that provides basic education and catering.
Currently, over 100 of the poorest children are participating in the program due to the location, facilities, and financial resources of the donors. If we manage to raise additional funds, the facility can help an additional 50 children.
The poorest children who qualify for the program receive high energy meals three times a week on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays, respectively. Feeding has a very significant effect on children participating in the program. According to the analysis, the program has helped solve the problem of street begging, theft, child labor.
We will be grateful for the donation.
